Is bed bugs a concern to a home daycare? I know that some people in our town have them. Anyone ever have a problem where a daycare family brought bedbugs to your house?

That's one reason why some providers won't allow outside pillows, stuffed animals etc.

Yes they are a concern just because they are a pain to get rid of. I've never had them but I had a friend that got them once. It was a huge pain and expensive.

An EXCELLENT reason not to allow toys, pillows, even diaper bags to be brought from home. Bedbugs also love to hide in wood-so be careful when purchasing secondhand furniture (dressers, wooden toys for daycare, etc.). If I buy anything second hand that COULD carry bugs, I treat it as if it were infested with bugs and disease-it's completely cleaned before it enters my home (bedbugs die in heat-so a trip through the dryer can kill them or, with bigger things, tie them up in a trash bag and leave them in a hot place in summertime (under the tonneau cover of hubby's truck, for example).

When blankets and clothing are brought from home, I keep them at my home and wash them here. I just don't want to chance bringing anything into my home. Even the CLEANEST homes can be infested.
