    Question About iPods

My husband has a basic one....not iPod touch. Can I download audible books for the kids to listen to at nap? Also, is there some sort of wifi speaker or something I can use so kids in 2 rooms can listen?

We have a small plug in speaker I'm not an expert on wifi speakers??? Maybe someone is?? I hope?? Maybe?? (Crickets)

Anyway, yes you can download audible books to an iPod... You just have to be sure you are downloading the correct file format for your iPod... If you don't have the manual, look it up on google and it should tell you the formats you can download as...

    Hth!!

I have something similar to this. You plop your ipod into the base and bring the speakers anywhere you want.

Yes, like the others have said ... they have speakers that you dock your iPod to. Original iPods don't have the technology to be able to use WiFi.

I have an original iPod also (as well as an iPod touch) and I like to use one of these (like in picture below) to make the sound portable. The speaker plugs into your headphone jack instead of having to dock your iPod into something and will work with any MP3 player device of any age as long as it has a headphone jack. If you are inside the sound is pretty good. Not too loud but loud enough that you can hear even if the kids are still laughing. Outside the sound is obviously less loud but I can still play music for the kids in the background while they paint or play quieter activities outside and they can still hear it.

There are lots of options out there and shouldn't cost more than $20 or so.
