Do any of you use the Safety Gate to give the infants their own space? The dcks I have aren't use to a infant being here so they are free to roam however during free time. I am so afraid that she will end of getting hurt some kind of way if the kids aren't being careful. Any suggestions?
Safety Gate?

Yup. I use a pack n play until they are starting to roll and sit, then I switch to a superyard or similar enclosure. I don't have licensing restrictions about using a pack n play for awake time. I try to avoid using "baby equipment" because I don't think it's necessary, but I have toddlers right now so enclosure *is* necessary,Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!- Flag

One came from a sister, another came from my in-laws,. But they sell them at Babies R Us, BuyBuyBaby, and online. Bit pricey, but very versatile and durable. I have one inside (that's actually blocking my TV right now) and one outside to contain crawlers.
and by baby equipment I meant swings/bouncy seats/etc.Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!- Flag

I have an entire room just for babies/toddlers. It has a dutch door on it so I can either close the entire door for complete privacy or just the bottom half as a gate to block off access to the room (or out of the room) when I need the babies to be somewhere safe for a bit while cooking or doing some other activity with the other kids that the babies shouldn't be near.- Flag

My baby area is in the living room near the kitchen and my play room is connected through a small hall.- Flag

I would think it would depend on how many kids you have. I try to teach the kids to be gentle around the babies but mostly all of the kids have free rein. I never use a pack and play for anything but sleeping. I really think enclosing a child can cause issues later down the road. I am currently dealing with this now. Even my babies are free to crawl and roll wherever they please. Yes, I have to be watching them at all times but I think it's better if they can explore the area.
BUT I keep a small ratio and everything I need is all on one floor...
However, I would use a baby gate or super yard for safety. I did buy 2 super yards from walmart and they are only $55 for 8 panels. I believe they shipped them to my house for free. I would go this route. I feel like its less about enclosing a child, and they can still explore. I would try to use two sets if you can.- Flag

I also have mirrors (the kind you see in convenience stores) in every corner of every room.
Like this:
My infant/toddler room also has a video camera type baby monitor.
NO ONE is out of my direct line of site. Other than when in the bathroom.- Flag

I have a separate room for them, but our main playroom is where we spend a lot of our free time if the weather doesn't allow us to go outside. I want her to be free to crawl and roll without me worrying so much about her getting hurt. I just looked at the superyards on Walmart's website and I think that I will order those. They last for a long time and you they resell good!
also: I was looking at the same model but with the door. The door did not come with good reviews and it was pricey. I got the regular version and I step over it. Each panel is a "door" but that isn't meant to be opened and closed regularly. I use mine to separate my kitchen from the living room, which is where the babies play.- Flag
