clean my kitchen and lunch mess, prep for anything needed for afternoon and eat a bite. Then I jump on here and see what is happening with everyone or surf the net for preschool stuff. I need to shut down and give myself some "me" time but I just don't know how to do that. My daycare seems to be my hobby at this point. Often I don't get that down time, because of my baby who has no schedule that is clear cut yet, or I will have someone that fights sleep when they so badly need it. I also check my snail mail and phone calls and do all that little stuff that needs to get done. I love to read but it puts me to sleep and I don't like to read and be interrupted, I end up reading the same paragraph over and over again just to get back into it. I can read small snip its here and there and be fine but a novel forget it. Do any of you feel like your daycare sometimes swallows you up and you don't have the energy for outside interest? I struggle with this.
What Are We Doing At Naptime?!?

It depends on the day. I have a 9 mo. old and 10 month old here so one of them is usually up so I play with them or hold the scream crier (the 9 mo. old) so the other children can sleep and browse the net and eat a snack and always drink some Coke a Cola. Sometimes I clean, but I usually try to have some down time. I also love to cuddle my son (the 10 mo. old)!- Flag

At the very beginning, when everyone is sleeping hard, I work. I clean things, I unload the dishwasher and reload it, switch out laundry (I put it in before they arrive), I prepare snack, I prepare part of dinner for the evening (typically crockpot), then I prepare my lunch. Around 12:30-12:45 is usually when I sit down and rest/eat until 2:00.- Flag

Usually I eat lunch and then just relax. Today, I'm cleaning the enormous mess my son made in the playroom this morning (dumped out the BRAND NEW COSTCO sized bag of veggie straws...). And my son the turkey is NOT napping.
Starting next fall I'll be spending nap time homeschooling my daughterHee hee! Look, I have a signature!- Flag

I drive my youngest son to PK right before naptime. Then I am home about 12:35 & get the kiddos down (only have 1 today so easy peasy!). Usually I do some form of chores first (dishes, throw in laundry, run vacuum). If I don't do it first it does not get done! So typically I am running arouind like a mad woman from 12:40 or so until 1:30ish. Then I typically walk while watching a DVRd show. Sometimes I will read too but I have trouble concentrating on books for too long anymore, m,ore likely to thumb through magazines. Kids normally up from nap by 2:35/2:40 & then I have to run to the school for pick-up.

We eat our lunch, talk and relax. Definitely play in the Internet a little.
I usually do all the cleaning while we are eating lunch, and try and have the dishes done before they lay down for nap. So I do any general straightening that needs to be done, and also gathering all belongings for the end of the day.- Flag

I have it a little different because of the labor laws of working in a center. I have an hour (unpaid) lunch, either from 12-1, or from 1-2. If I go at 12, at the same time as my sister, we go to the bank, shopping, or just to her house to relax. Then we are back in our classroom where we eat lunch, get ready for the afternoon. If I don't go with my sister, I read or play games on my ipod after all the children are asleep. Then when I get my lunch break (1-2), I read, go on facebook, and have my lunch in our staff room.
It is a little different now that my husband is out of work. Usually he picks me up on my lunch hour and I just come home, or we go out of lunch.- Flag

I eat lunch, clean up the kitchen and kids table, sweep/vacuum, pay bills online, shop online, read, watch tv, prep crafts and afternoon snack, fix/clean toys, do laundry, play in the yard with my dog, or just sit on my butt for a while. Depends how energetic I feel that day. Lol.- Flag

I have infants so I don't really have very long (if at all) each day that all of them are asleep. I use nap to put my room back in order, work on things in the room I can't do while they are awake, and to clean everything. I also go check on supplies and whatnot at nap.- Flag
