Just wondering what you feel is the policy that is broken the most.....
1. Illness policy (bringing sick children
2. Payment policy (not paying on time)
3. Supply policy (not bringing required items)
4. Late policy (dropping off late or picking up late)

Wow...that's a tough one. They are all big to me, and they all happen all the time. Guess I'd have to say paying on time. No wait...being late picking up. Ummmm, no...maybe it's sending a sick kid and telling you they're only sick when they're at daycare. Geeeeeesh. I can't answer that one. Sorry.

Mostly sickness. I have two kids (out of 9 total, including part-timers) that will come in when sick and I always send them back out. Not too bad, I think.

Late payments don't really happen since there's a late fee AND they can't attend. No pay, no stay.

Late supplies don't happen because I won't accept their child into care without them.

Picking up late happens a couple of times per week with one family. The family tries very hard to get here on time but their work schedule sometimes prevents that from happening (by 5 or less minutes). So, they just pay me a late fee.

The only one I really get is pushing the illness policy. It's not that the child has the "big 3" (fever,vomiting, diarrrhea) but are just clearly not 100% and the parent is taking their chances.

Late payments for me without a doubt. With SA's, I don't really have illness issues because if they're too sick to go to school, they're too sick to come here. I don't require supplies at all.

I will say, that parents paying late is my MAIN complaint about this job. SA parents seem to see me as "the babysitter" and therefore, almost without fail, see paying me as a flexible thing and they get really huffy and angry when I'm "inflexible". This school year is the first year since I started doing childcare that I haven't had any issues with being paid. I hope that these parents send their kids again next year!!!!

1. Bringing sick children: I have policies in place that I am firm in enforcing but my current clients call me to tell me that little ones are sick and won't be coming. I don't tend to have to send any of them home, or at least I haven't had to in a while. Maybe like a year.
2. Not paying on time: I have policies also and enforce late fees but I don't have issues with payments either currently and haven't had any in issues in a while. I can't remember the last time that I had an issue with a late payment.
3. Not bringing required items: I just had a DCD forget to bring wipes today but he ran home and brought them back to me. This isn't really an issue.
4. Dropping off late or picking up late: I don't mind if parents drop off late and I never really have minded this but if my clients run late to pick up they give me a call to give me a heads up and are usually only 5 minutes late or less and it's not frequent.

Wow that was a tough one cause I got them all! I voted payment but really I could have picked any. I have some really amazing parents who just do not think twice to push the limits! Yes its in writing. Yes I stand my ground. But that does not matter. It would have been easier for me to pick supplies and the least one done. LOL! That is not an issue. But I get the 'I left my checkbook home" to "Oh I couldn't get out of work on time.....again" to "Oh he was fine when I dropped him off" allllllllllllllllllllllllllll the time.

Trending that violation of illness policy is on top right now. Very telling! It is amazing how common this is.
Personally, I voted for late payment......but I put that on me for being too laid back.

My biggest is "Sick" when I started enforcing my policies I lost 2 families but I think it was for the best. KWIM. Paying late I had 2 parents but always paid the late fee. So I was ok, I guess

Definitely sick policy. My parents don't pay late (this has never been an issue for me). The only supplies I ask for are diapers, and my parents keep the supply stocked. And my kids are all gone by 4 pm, with few to no late pick ups. I have really great dcps, but they do like to try to slip their sick kids by me!
