I would let them fill it with water themselves if they want. Let them smell it.
But, also, I don't think I would ever use bleach in a child's bottle. Even a small amount every day could harm her. I'd wash it with soap and hot water, but not bleach. I'd go out and buy some other bottles to donate to them before i'd put bleach in them.
I have parents who will FLIP out if they even smell bleach when they walk in. I had one mom who would take her son and leave if she could smell bleach. It was weird.
I am going to assume you are not pouring it on the kids, so that parent is misinformed about bleach. I am pretty tolerant of behaviors in parents, but that one would irritate me and I would remove that parent/child from the care list.- Flag

We were required to rinse all dishes in a bleach solution, per licensing. It was wash with hot soapy water, rinse with hot plain water, and sanitize with cold bleach water, and air dry. We use green cleaners and a sanitizer for the dishes where I am now, but in my opinion they don't work as well. The dishes are frequently not clean and every week there's a new sickness going around. When I start up, I'm going to stick with my old Dawn solution and bleach.- Flag
