MOST* parents would be mortified enough so that they would probably not bring you any more moldy bottles.....

Why is a 2 yr old EVER using a bottle anymore? 😯

This is why I supply them, from sippy cups to bottles.

But, also, I don't think I would ever use bleach in a child's bottle. Even a small amount every day could harm her. I'd wash it with soap and hot water, but not bleach. I'd go out and buy some other bottles to donate to them before i'd put bleach in them.

I have parents who will FLIP out if they even smell bleach when they walk in. I had one mom who would take her son and leave if she could smell bleach. It was weird.
Bleach will not cause harm. Even if it isn't rinsed well, it would dissipate within a few hours. The reason we cannot use bleach water in a clear container is because the bleach breaks down in light. In the case of yuccky bottles, though, I might use a vinegar soak instead, just to break down any ick on the sides of the bottle.

I am going to assume you are not pouring it on the kids, so that parent is misinformed about bleach. I am pretty tolerant of behaviors in parents, but that one would irritate me and I would remove that parent/child from the care list.

Our state requires us to clean with bleach water.

We were required to rinse all dishes in a bleach solution, per licensing. It was wash with hot soapy water, rinse with hot plain water, and sanitize with cold bleach water, and air dry. We use green cleaners and a sanitizer for the dishes where I am now, but in my opinion they don't work as well. The dishes are frequently not clean and every week there's a new sickness going around. When I start up, I'm going to stick with my old Dawn solution and bleach.
