    Table And Eating Manners

How much effort do you put into this. I have issues with eating sounds (gulping, smacking, slurping etc) I have one kid I can't stand to hear drink.

We nicely talk about the things I LOVE. I compliment good behavior.

Lately, we have been participating in The Listening Program by Advanced Brain Technologies. https://tlp.advancedbrain.com/ I love the classical music.
I put it on for 15 minutes of the 30 minute lunch period and they listen quietly as they eat (ages 2-5) until the music stops. It has stopped a lot of obnoxious behaviors and I love it. :: They are too busy listening and eating to have time to attempt to make annoying sounds or do anything obnoxious.

i am big on table manners.

here is what I teach all of the children..

we sit with our legs under the table and eat over our plates
no elbows or heads on the table
I have assigned seats, no switching
meal time is time to eat, talk when you are finished
we never touch another persons anything while at the table
we use kind words when we do talk
napkins are for wiping, not our shirts
      we sit on our bottom
no rocking, tipping or getting out of chairs
we eat with our mouths closed
say excuse me if you burp or make rude noises
we raise our hand when we are done eating and wait to be excused
if you get up from the table without permission you are done
once excused you will put your dishes in the sink
      clean up your eating area
push in your chair and go to the bathroom wash your hands

IF you can't learn to do this, which is alot, you get to eat alone after everyone else is done...

Most of that is what we do here, too.

we are working on not eating off of someone elses plate. I have a dcg (she's 18 months) cutest doll in the world. the minute she is done and I let her out of the highchair, she is reaching and eating someone elses food. Omg its so funny, and do shoo her out of the room but she's sneaky and comes back.

This is pretty much me too, I'm BIG on table manners, instead of raising their hand they just have to ask to be excused and wait for my answer.

I will be starting this next week. Lately I feel like I have lost all control of my group (that has always been extremely well behaved). And meal times are becoming difficult... I love this idea.
