I don't have that issue but I do know lots of providers have a "No scent" policy.

Some for personal preference and others for allergies or sensitivities to some smells/scents.

I'd definitely mention it to the parents though.

ONE smell is one thing but a whole bunch of them mixed together in close quarters must be unbearable!

I have allergies and this week they have flared up really bad and I think it's because of all these different scents! I'm gonna mention it to them, but I don't want to come sounding harsh.

Since you have allergies, I really would be pretty insistent then that the kids come with no added scents.

Explain to the families that it is for health reasons.

I am sure most would understand and gladly comply

            Yes!

I have one child that reeks of cigarette smoke

And another little boy that gets to spray dad's cologne on himself every morning. He spray so much on that you can smell him from across the room

Fortunately I don't have any dck's who do this, but I am also severely sensitive to cologne's and cigarette smoke. I get instantly congested and headache and neauseous if I'm around someone who reeks of either.

I would DEFINITELY make it part of my handbook and in the meantime let the parents know how it affects you. I've had to put kids' belongings outside for a while to air out when they have come in reeking of cigarette smoke.

Thank you, I will be sure to add this to my handbook. My entire house smells like this one dcb, you would think that he bathe himself in it this morning! It is soooo loud smelling

I know they want their kids to smell good, but goodness these are 1 & 2 year olds.

I have a "no scent" section in my handbook. I say "Due to the allergies and lung sensitivity of some children, I cannot allow children to have any heavy scents. Perfume/Cologne/Lotions/Smoke...if your child smells heavily of any scent, pleasant or unpleasant, they will need to go home."
