    Not again! Ugh

So the 1-yr old that was scheduled to start yesterday mom decided not to bring her after all. Dcg didn't come yesterday due to illness, today I get a text from dcp saying she decided to take her to a center near her school.
this parent is on CalWorks and all paperwork was done and already approved the only thing missing was the contract.
I'm upset for various reasons, one because I've had bad luck enrolling kids and two because I wasted my time on this parent. I feel like calling the worker and asking to pay me at least the registration fee to cover all the paperwork. Ugh!

sorry OP. this type of thing does happen. I am sure this girl was not sick yesterday but there is nothing you can do about it now. for the future, can you charge a deposit or two weeks pay up front to deter from this type of thing? what you are allowed to do with state pay clients?

I do charge a deposit but I try to be lenient with people on CalWorks. If it was subsidized then I do collect a deposit from the parent but give them payment options. Kwim

        That's a bummer.

On the positive side - maybe your perfect family is just waiting to find you!
