I didn't read everyone's replies. I charge a flat weekly rate of $135.00. That is their rate wether they're in school or on school break. I explain to the parents that they are paying for a spot. I used to only barge $5 an hour but it was not worth it. SA take a spot and are harder than preschoolers, so for me it works out to charge a flat weekly rate. I barge 165 for ages 2-5 and 6 and up is 135.00.

Potentially you can make more per hour with SA kids, however, unless you get a group that's "just right" it can be a nightmare.
They eat more.
They have much more energy.
They are loud.
They get bored easily.
When there is no school days are long and hard.
I am permitted 3 SA and if I were to take any more then I would be giving away one of my FT spots.
I have 2 SA and one is mine. The 2nd one keeps mine entertained and is a sibling of a FT toddler. I won't take on any other SA. I have in the past and its very hard.Comment
