    My Backbone Was Straight Today!!!

After dealing with one troublesome family all day, I had to really stand up and speak up today when another dcm picked up her kids.

This mom is newly single so dad is still very involved and helps mom out when he can...so does dcm's mother. On any given day I NEVER know who is dropping the kids off, or picking them up.

So this morning dcm told me dcd would pay me at pickup. SHE ended up picking up and was crying as she came up to the door, but tried to hide it from the kids.

We spoke for a few minutes and then she began to walk out. I then asked her if she planned on taking care of the payment before she left, and she asked me if dcd had stopped by to pay me....Uhhhhh, no. I haven't seen or heard from him. She informed me they had been fighting about money so I mentioned that maybe that was the reason he had not come by and paid me.

Anyways, it's the first time I've EVER come out and asked for payment when it appeared the dcp wasn't going to pay at pickup. That was a huge step for me....

          That is wonderful!

          Did you get paid?
What if she had just said, "No." I always wonder what I would do if a parent responded back in a way I wasn't expecting.
