    Go to summer activities?

What are your go to summer activities? And what are your must haves as far as supplies and toys go?

    I will have the following ages this summer 1, 3, 4 (2x), 6 (3x), and 8 (2x).

For summer, we just aim to spend as much time outdoors as possible.

I don't worry about routines, curriculums or anything structured.

Sometimes we even nap outside and eat outside too.

The only thing that stays according to the clock in the summer is meal time.

The only supplies I have in the summer are my regular outdoor toys.

At the FCC I used to work at usually the biggest event she has during the summer (and pretty much the whole year) is the preschool graduation/ beginning of summer celebration she has at a local church where they have a different theme every year and the children sing and dance and then there is a graduation ceremony with a pot luck at the end the parents can volunteer to bring food/drinks, set up before, or clean up after.

At the place I used to work at she had like a summer Olympics thing where she kept records off the kids doing different athletic activates; like jumping the highest, most jump ropes, longest hula-hooping, or running the fastest, activities depending on the age group like crawling for babies.

For a few weeks and at the end of the week tally up the scores and give out ribbons (I think she tried to make sure every child got a ribbon in at least one event). She also would also do a lot of outside water play like the water tables, kiddy pools, slip 'n slides, and water guns/balloons for older kids; which were all supervised. And sometimes she would have 1 or 2 assistants take a few of the older preschoolers or SAC to the park down the street for a picnic during lunch time (sometimes did this during the school year if there is a little bit of overlap in arrival/departure schedules).

I spend as much time outside as possible. Must haves for DCK: bubbles, sprinkler, water table, balls and other outdoor toys. For me: music & iced tea

The "extra" thing added outside is the water table. I may get another one this year. We still go to the park like usual and have an occasional water day.

We spend all morning outside, at least until it is to warm to be outside - in the summer that frequently happens around 11:00.

We have sprinklers (we aren't allowed to have any standing water) but sprinklers are fine.

We have chalk, bubbles, and maybe weekly we get out a can of shaving cream and spread it all over the table - and just hose everyone down when we are done. I bring out the radio and we have music too.

My main goal is to make it as easy as possible to be outside. We have a small out-building with power, which is awesome to have. And in it I have a box with everything I could possibly need while outside. I also keep a few spare diapers for each child and a changing pad. Also we have an exersaucer in there so we can just pull it out when needed. I also keep a Superyard on the deck, and pull it out to the grass when needed.
