What did you serve for snack this week?

Lately I feel like I've been serving the same couple snacks over and over again... I need new ideas. Preferably things that are inexpensive but not just junk (sugar/processed foods/etc.)

Any ideas? What did your snack menu look like this week?

      apples, zucchini bread, milk

carrot chips(it's just the way the carrots are cut), yogurt, water

fruit tray, sweet potato dip, corn bread and milk

string cheese, cutties, oatmeal cakes, mik

sliced cheddar cheese, bread sticks, strawberries milk

almond butter, celery, lavash bread and milk

      tuna, lettuce, apple slices,

tortilla with cheese, fruit and milk

      orange cranberry muffin, cantaloupe, milk

I dont like to serve crackers, but I do see lots of snacks that are served with crackers. I think that would be a cheaper alternative to making muffins or some kind of veggie bread.

      Hope this helps some

Would you mind sharing your recipe for homemade granola bars? Please? I would love to try this with my ds. I hate the store bought ones.

I got the recipe online. There are tons of them. I will try to find it...not sure if I wrote it down. It was my first try. The secret, or one of them is to press the mixture firmly into the pan. I didn't realize that.

I just looked and I didn't write it down. I tend to do that... I many times just google a recipe on my I-pad and follow it off the I-pad. I think I can find it online again.

                  Mine did turn out good.

                  Found it!
This one does have less refined sugar. Some have Rice Krispies, which I did not want to use.

1/2 cup peanut butter...the kind with added oil works better, not just peanuts/salt variety
                  1/3 C honey
1 egg- I liked the added egg for a little more protein
2 Tbl canola or olive oil. I used olive oil
                  1 tsp pure vanilla
                  3 1/2 C oats
                  1/4 C brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt- I just added a dash
1/3 C mini choc. Chips. I may have added more and pressed some on top
                  1/3 C raisins ( I also used craisins)
                  Mix well
                  Press firmly into the pan

350 for 12-15 min. 13x9 pan sprayed with cooking spray

-shredded mozzarella cheese w/oyster crackers on the side, pineapple. I put the shredded cheese in a little dish that they eat with their fingers. They love it.
                        -peanut butter toast, grapes, milk
-yogurt, small apple (applesauce for younger child), water
-raisins mixed with dry cheerios (I call it trail mix), milk
-cuties, graham cracker 'sandwich' w/peanut butter, milk

I only do one snack. I do breakfast, lunch and p.m. snack
