No Shade, Soooo Hot, Any Suggestions?

We have a fairly large outdoor fenced in space with sandbox, swing set, play house, separate slides and climbing equipment, and then a small porch with picnic tables and stuff to play with. Unfortunately, we have NO shade at all!! Here in Indiana (where it snows one day and you're sweating the next!) we've suddenly had 3 days of 80 degree weather after having lots of rain and winter temps before that. We really didn't have much time to prepare for this crazy weather, and now we are dying from the heat and sun.

What do you guys do if you don't have trees to help shade? Anything we could attach to the house or fence without spending thousands and thousands of dollars?

We have several large patio umbrellas on stands that can be moved around. Last summer we also used shade cloth that we wove through the Christmas lights and cables we had strung up in our backyard.

Amazon has some patio umbrellas for around $35 ea. Would a few of those work? Or those bigger. nicer umbrellas that are all adjustable?

How about pop up tents? You might see them at parks and what not. You should be able to find them for under $100. You can take them down and store them in the winter.

I use a camping canopy, kinda like this but it has "side wall" option I occasionally use as we get a lot of wind (I got it on sale BTW, so I paid 1/2 this "sale" price)

Move to MN. Sorry, I couldn't help myself. Some areas near me got 16 inches of snow last night

a canopy really sounds like your best bet. Or you can buy a few posts and hang a large tarp from them to create shade.

Fellow Indiana provider. I use easy ups. Or big beach umbrellas. I get creative about when we go out. It is sometimes 6-9am. Sometimes 9-11. Lol. Depending on weather. Monday we didn't go out but for 30 min in afternoon. I also have a 6 kid stroller we use that has canopies.
