I Think The Snow (In May) Is Making Me Cranky!

I get very irritated when I have to change a diaper every day at drop-off- they should be in a fresh diaper when they come!

Also, I got a text at 7:45 last night about a DCG who did not take her "lovie" home with her and was then crying for it at night. Is it MY responsibility, or DCP, to make sure it goes home? I don't have cubbies, and I try to always remember to hand it to them, but if I forget during a crazy pick-up (it was raining and almost hailing and the poor DCG didn't have a hood or hat so I was trying to give DCD my daughter's jacket to borrow or something- I don't own an umbrella) shouldn't it be the parents who know what their child needs to take home with them?! My DH said DCM was probably not blaming me, but why else would she text me about it at night (she knew it was here, it wasn't a question) unless it was to try to make me feel responsible? Oh well, I think the weird weather is just throwing me off!!

It should never snow in May, and I would be cranky, too!

Just take it with a grain of salt. Loveys sometimes get forgotten. That's why I always tell parents to make sure they have two!

Dirty diapers at drop-off are aggravating.

I love snow, but snow in May is crazy. We have a drizzle/snow mix going on.

I don't allow anything (other than jackets) to come back and forth from home. If they are under 12 months and use a pacifier or lovey, I keep it in their cubby and only allow it for naps. They do not go home at night. I just think it is a germ issue. I have found that most kids are fine without them within a few days. Sometimes it seems the parents are more attached to them than the kids are

I understand how you are feeling about the snow. We've decided to make it a Christmas in May day. We are having hot chocolate and decorating cupcakes with red and green. We also watch Rudolph

The lovey question... I try really hard to remember to send them home but if I forget I don't feel badly. If the child is that attached then the parents need to try and remember to take it with them.

If we had snow right now I would be going absolutely nuts! Luckily, it has finally warmed up here.

DD has had a "lovey" for a while ... we were luck enough that when we realized she had gotten attached to it, we ran out and found another same exact one.

We just got 9 inches of heavy snow! I'm bumming! So ready to be able to sit outside!
