DCP Trying To Involve Me In Family Issues

Warning...this might be confusing: I have 2 DCKs who are cousins...their Mother's are sisters. DCM #1 is going out of town this weekend so DCM #2 ( her sister ) is keeping DCG. I usually care for DCM#2's son every-other Sat. So today DCM#2 sent me a text stating that this Sat it would be BOTH DCKs. Not a problem but....DCM#1 hadn't even contacted me about it. I asked if DCM#1 knew of the situation because she hadn't even mentioned it to me. A few minutes later I get a text from DCM#1 asking If I would take her daughter this Sat. Which I replies yes. Then I get a text from her stating that she thought her sister should be responsible for that days fees since the girl will be under her care.

I feel like I am being put in the middle of an ''adult'' disagreement. How woukd you respond????

Honestly, I'd tell her that isn't my business and that her and her sister should take that up with each other. It has nothing to do with you. Just be sure you get paid regardless of their issues

Yeah, I would just respond something along the lines of... "I'm not sure what your payment arrangement is, that is up to you and DCM #2. The tuition for Saturday is $X and due by XX" and let them figure it out. Refuse to get into the middle!

^ This exactly! Honestly, it seems like something they should've figured ot when DCM#1 made arrangements for her sister to take her that day. Still not your problem, just can't believe how people try to push their decisions onto someone else.

Thank you everyone. In 20+ years this is a first for me. I just told DCM that it is between her and her sister and I wasn't getting involved. I hope this isnt a sign of things to come...I have cared for both of their children for 4 years without this sibling issue with the DCMs.

The only thing that I thought of is that perhaps the mom was joking? Especially if you haven't had any other issues

When we get our gas delivery the driver sticks the bill in the front door, and usually it's a dc parent who finds it first and hands it to me - I always joke that the first person who touches it has to pay it:: No one buys it

happyface. Good for giving them the responsibility! It really is none of your business, you just need to be paid by someone hope you get paid before services, don't let them affect you with their disagreement!
