How is the new space treating you? I bet you are enjoying it!- Flag

I have a separate home too (center) and with the overhead of mortgage, utilities, insurance, and staff, you simply HAVE to charge more. I hope once patents see your new space and realize they are getting a better, dedicated environment, they will not question your rate anymore.
How is the new space treating you? I bet you are enjoying it!My lincensor is pushing me to get licensed for 16 so I'm working on that as well!!!! Thanks for asking!

What are salaries like in your town? I know all of my parents are in a combined situation of well over 100k so my 35$ a day isn't hurting them. Or if it is it s because they are over extended elsewhere.- Flag

If your licensor is pushing you to expand, clearly your place ROCKS! I wish I could see you're rates go up to at least $100 a week! I'm licensed for 15 and my husband and I gross about $130k a year. But I live in La La land of the super wealthy. And my rates are more than twice yours. And the costs of living here are sky high. You can't rent a decent.apartment for under 2 grand a month.
Go for the 16!!!
Yes, one of my dcps work at a headstart here and she said my licensor spoke very highly of me and my program on yesterday!!$100 a would be lovely!!!

Here's the thing - if you lowball your competitors that'll cause them to lower their rates to compete and you'll all end up hurting yourselves.
But if you charge what you're worth, eventually your competitors will say "if she can charge THAT much, I can charge THIS much" and eventually everyone's rates will go up.
At least, that's the theory...- Flag

I don't think they are making 100k. In the past 10 years some of the major plants have closed down and relocated. There really isn't a lot of jobs here that pays good money. I have mostly single parents who work fast food, retail and attend school.- Flag

I live in a small town ( pop. About 6000). It is very rural also....about an hour away from a small city of 60,000.
Full time is about $115.00 to $160.00. $120.00 is the average. Those are not infant rates.
The rates you quoted from some area providers were amazing!
I charged $50.00 a week twenty five years ago and it was not high...just the going rate. Wow!
I live in a lower income county, so I guess I should count my blessing that area rates are fairly decent.
I think you will fill your spot. You must be doing a great job, as all your other spots are filled. I wish my state allowed family child care to expand as your state does
Good luck....we all know you will do fine happyface- Flag

I live in a small town called El Dorado, Arkansas and I have just about had enough of the people here. There are maybe 9 daycare centers and 4 daycare homes that I know of. I have been advertising for the spot that just came open over a week ago and every call I get about childcare I always hear, "well I don't know if I can afford that". I am about the cheapest daycare here and what I charge is still to much, so they say:confused:
I started off charging $70.00 a week when I first opened in 2010 and now I charge $80.00. How on earth would they survive paying childcare in a larger city?:confused::confused:
How many are you allowed to have?- Flag

It's all about where you live. I would be RICH if I charged what some providers on here charge. But I know they live in parts of the country where their fees are average.
My SIL lives in CA and childcare there costs a ton more than it does here. Her house is a small 3 bedroom, 1200 sq ft home and we have a 3300 sq ft, 5 bedroom home. Hers cost MORE than twice what ours did.
When they visit us here in Utah, they can't get over how much lower everything costs.
But in the end, it all works out. I'm average for my area. She's average for hers.- Flag
