HeloLast minute closing - Need help wording email.

I need help wording an email to parents.

I have a personal thing that I need to take Tuesday off. This was not a preplanned closin and I don't want to have parents asking what I am taking off for so want to send all an email this morning at work.

Please help me word things. I don't normally take unplanned days off, they usuallly have months notice.

I would just tell them:

Due to personal reasons I will be closed on XXX. This is a paid day and will count as one of my personal/sick days. Thank you for understanding.

I wouldn't say sorry or go into great detail. I'm pretty upfront with my parents so I would tell them what is going on if asked, but that is just me.
