So...several of my dcp have got me thinking. I have a group of kids that turned 2 this winter (3 of them), I have my own 3.5 yo boy, and a 4.5 yo old dcb. Lately, one of the dcp has been keeping me updated on what her 2 yo old "knows". "She knows her colors and shapes, I know she does, but when I ask her, she won't comply and won't tell me the right answer." My response, "They all learn these things in their own time - of my own children, I had one that knew the entire alphabet, shapes, colors and numbers when she was 2. My current 3.5 yo is finally interested in his colors and knows them, forget shapes and letters!" He is my most imaginative kid. He can play for hours talking to his "guys" and battling the world with his toys. He also has had a very "real" imaginary friend for almost a year now. Wow, the things "Tina" and he do together are amazing! So I did a little internet searching to find some info to back up my feelings that my own child is just fine, "knowing" what he knows. I found this and love it!
