How Long To Wait For A Late Tour?

What's your time limit? after 15 minutes late with no call, I want to pack up and leave to sun my much needed errands. Ugh, I wish these parents would respect my time!

If it were me I would just leave now. I won't chase people down. I believe in the start that if they are not going to put their best foot forward, that it could just mean more bad news down the road.

HOWEVER, if you have already talked to this family and really like them, I would give them a quick call. But if they seemed questionable, then perhaps just leave.

TO me it is rude when someone cant pick up and take 10 seconds to tell me that they are going to be late or need to reschedule...

I wait 15 minutes and then I will not answer the door, nor do I make my interview time longer than it is (30 minutes, period). I've never had anything good come out of a relationship that began with them being late to an interview (or being a no show).

I also include this in the e-mail I send to potential clients confirming their interview time:
This time is reserved just for your family. If your scheduled appointment time needs to be changed, please provide no less than 24 hours notice. Barring extenuating circumstances, missed appointments or late arrivals will not be rescheduled.

I love your quote. I need to add that to my email that i send them when I confirm the appointment with them.

I sometimes used to say something along the lines of "we work very long days sometimes 12+ hours before your interview time, so should something occur where you will no longer be able to attend, please be sure to let us know as soon as possible"

But I like yours much better...I may have to take some of it and make it my own to add to future emails.

30 minutes is the total time OF my interview. If I waited 30 minutes, there'd be no time left. :: That'd be funny, though. "Hello! You missed your interview time but I DID wait! Goodbye!"

I wait 15 minutes before I leave. After 5 minutes tho, I usually start supper or laundry or whatever I normally do at that time.
