ceiling height is Number 1 check your regulations first. It is rare except for a new house to have a finished height of 8 feet. 7 feet or is it 7 ft 6 is allowed here. I am grandfathered in the old rules.
Walk out without steps
bathroom
then I would want to be able to add a kitchenette plenty of storage and to be able to see every one.
You also need an area without carpet to eat and paint.It:: will wait

A small update! We did not get the house that I really liked. I live in Lincoln, NE and it is a sellers market and a lot of houses are selling in the first 48 hours a house is listed. But we have recently found and viewed a really nice home with a much bigger space in the basement with one big room to set up however I shall choose. It also has a big storage space with really nice laminate flooring where I could see us finishing it as a kitchen/dining area for the kids. Also this is a walkout so parents could come through the back door and not go through our upstairs at all. So we put an offer in and see what happens now..- Flag
