    Toys for Boys

I know boys can play with dolls, purses and kitchen sets but what I want to know is what are their fav. things to play with. I have boys from 1 - 3 years old and I have some trucks and lots of legos but beyond that what can I buy to make sure they have fun educational toys. Also, what toys do you find most educational or that you use with your curriculums?

My boys play with anything. The kitchen, blocks, puzzles, cars/trains/planes, dolls, legos, balls and toys with balls, pull toys, musical instruments, dolls. At that age, boys and girls play with the same toys.

I have 3 boys, 2,4,4. The most popular toys right now for all of them are TRAINS, wood blocks, mega blocks, kid k'nex, animals (plastic or rubber). The things they come up with when they play with the kid k'nex are unbelievable!! They really seem to spark their imaginations. I want to get more, but they are not cheap!

When I first started out I had ALL boys. But before they all started, I had had a little girl that was supposed to start and never ended up coming. I had borrowed a doll house (Little Tykes) and accessories from our child care resource centre, and turns out the boys totally loved it when they all started coming.

Other than that, cars, dress up clothes (stock up after Halloween when costumes are dirt cheap!), trains, I have a puppet theatre that all my kids love, and blocks.

Really, they don't have much sense of gender stereotypes at these early ages unless their parents are drilling that into them. I've had some that love to play with Barbies.

The doll house is always a hit with the boys I have had in the past. It is amazing to watch a group of boys play with it, they come up with so many scenerios, most of them 100% different than how the girls played.
