    I Love My Assistant

I've been going through a lot recently with both my parents hospitalized and now facing having my dad placed into a nursing home. It's been stressful, and I've needed to take time out during the day to run up to the hospital for different reasons in order to speak with the doctor or social workers.

I can call my assistant (sub actually) and she will be over any time I need her. I don't know what I'd do right now without her and I'd love to do something special for her. She worked for me many years ago when I had daycare the first time around, and she will still drop everything to help me out. Anybody have some great, inexpensive ideas to show her my appreciation?

Tell her how great she is, if you don't have any extra $$$ maybe you could write a heartfelt note, bake her a batch of her favorite cookies/brownies, put together a cheap spa pack (buy a basket & fill with polishes, creams, emery boards, etc). I am so sorry to hear about your dad, we had to have my dad put in a nursing home & it was extremely difficult.:hug: Goodness, I didn't read that right, just noticed your mom is in hospital too - I am so sorry for you at this tough time, sending positive thoughts & prayers & wishing that this difficult time will not be so stressful.

I would give her a care basket, $5 starbucks card, her favorite candy, a mani/pedi set, something home baked with a card.

I am sorry you are having a rough time right now, but your assistant sounds awesome!
