Rechargeable Batteries

Has anyone made the investment in rechargeable batteries ?

We are 90% battery free, and the only batteries we need are for swings, bouncy chairs, vibrating chairs, etc. Unfortunately the D batteries are very expensive, and I hate having to replace the batteries.

Rechargeable batteries are initially expensive (32-50.00 for a set of 8) - but so are the traditional batteries, it seems like a wise investment, once I get past the initial investment.

Does anyone else do this ? Pros/cons ?

When I had my son I used the rechargeable batteries for his swing. I had 2 sets for it one for the swing and one for te charger so I was never out of a swing (only thing to calm him down as an infant)

So glad they have swings that plug in now! I have the plug in one and it has never seen a battery.

I would buy all electric if I could go back in time. These swings are draining batteries.

I use rechargeable batteries for items and would never throw money away again, literally, with single use batteries.

I have rechargeable batteries for EVERYTHING.

NOTHING at daycare though since we are a battery free daycare and I do NOT use any type of infant equipment either.

But, at my house I use rechargeable batteries for everything. I bought an Energizer charger that charges ALL battery sizes.

We have a wildlife camera outside that we use to photograph deer and other critters that come into our yard and we were lucky enough to find a solar charger for the camera so we eliminated the need for batteries all together.

This is the charger I bought. It charges AA, AAA, C, D and 9V batteries
