I Finally Gave Notice! DCP Upset

Most of you remember my last thread about possible giving 2-week notice to dcb because dcb is always sick and I feel that dcb needs far more care and attention that I can give.
Well..... I finally gave DCP 2-week notice and oh boy DCP is upset I'm getting texts left and right, DCP decided to remove both children. DCP wants me to write up another notice with both children's names. I told him that he would have to give me the notice for the second child since I'm not terminating services for him. (I think he got more mad)

Oh well! I did what I thought was right,

I would have to say that I would expect if a family has to remove one child from care that more than likely they'd want to remove both and have them both in the same place.

I may be different, but if I felt I had to term one child for whatever reason that I would just term the family, rather than only one child.

I see your justice in it, but it just seems logical to me.

I'm in the same position...I have one child I want to term, but not the other (from same family). I won't do just one...

Years ago I had a 2 yo and SA sibs. I told dcm I couldn't keep SA because it just wasn't working out. They left the 2 yo and removed the SA...but only because she was able to stay home by herself.

Yes it's understandable I have no objection at all I'm happy he's doing that. I'm just tired of always giving credits when child is sick I can't afford it! I feel much better now

Since he hasn't read my notice he still hasn't said anything. I do have a deposit for dcb #1 but not for SA boy.

I termed my first kids yesterday. DCM was texting she may have to quit her job BS. WhatEV. Parent your child when he is at home & not make the rest of the world responsible for him.

I received a late text last night asking if he can get his deposit back and kids won't return back. Wow really??? I have not yet responded because I already know we r going to be at it and I didn't want to last night :: but now I'm ready

This is getting out of hand. DCP keeps asking for deposit saying "I really need my money so I can put my dck in another daycare" " it's a very short notice!" Really??? Per our contract is 2-week notice and that's exactly what I gave DCP. I start getting more texts saying "wow you are really something else"

I feel that this parent has disrespect me in different ways.

If I term immediately now and not let dck return for the 2 weeks, can I still go after the last week? I still have a deposit and a check he gave me in advance for this coming week. (DCP claims he already canceled that check) I honestly don't think he did but if he did and I end up going to court I will fight for the fee plus late fees.

Any thoughts?

Don't text anymore. He is acting too familiar and you want to send a message to this man. A strict, professional message and that can't really be conveyed over text. Send one email.

Dear DcD and DcM:

As per our signed contract agreement, I have given you the required notice of two weeks for DCB. Fees are due for these two weeks regardless of attendance. You have chosen to pull your other child. I also require two weeks notice and fees are due regardless of your choice to use the two weeks' notice. If your cheque for this week does not go through, you will also be charged NSF fees in the amount of XXX.XX. I have no trouble pursuing these fees in court.

I have copied and pasted the applicable sections from my contract regarding your situation. (copy and paste). I have the hard copy with your signature at home.

There is no need to discuss this further, and any attempt to harass me by phone, email or text will be unanswered, recorded and saved for any future court dates.

DCK 1 and 2 are welcome to return for their notice period, however, any instance of disrespect or broken policies on your part will result in an immediate termination forfeiting all fees, as per our signed contract agreement, quoted below: (attach any part where you can terminate for disrespect).

I like this- professional, to the point, and shows exactly what is in the binding contract in case you do need to go to court. I don't remember if you mentioned it before, but have you notified your licensing office in case any allegations come in? Good luck with everything!!!
