    Awwww... poop

Alright, so I have a 3.5 yr. old that started with me about 1.5 month ago. They said he was fully potty trained. Yay! NOT! The first 2 weeks he started it was VERY spotty... would only poop about 1/2 the time in the potty, they would put pull-up's in for nap time. And he was still wetting his pants. I thought, maybe this is just an adjustment, but after three poop accidents in a row, I demanded pull-ups full-time and said I'd work with him. I started a sticker chart, and said after 10 consecutive days, he can work his way back up to underwear & have a prize. He did it, superhero stickers & Star wars stationary pack. Back to underwear the following 2 weeks, no issues.

Fast forward to Spring Break & NY trip. They went on a family vacation for a week, came back and now he's back to peeing and pooping in his underwear. He is always in dark denim, and NEVER tells me when he goes. Until I smell it, or feel it - he's all over my carpet

So, what do I do -- they seem resistant to put him back in pull ups, but this is the forth accident this week. It's not because he was too busy playing, he just went potty, then hid to poop. I just don't know why he regressed, but I'm sick of cleaning my carpet. I know many of you say no to pull-ups... but if the parent is paying and it saves my carpet - I just do not care. Do I demand he goes back to pull-ups until he's again accident free? WWYD?

I'd make him go back to pullups and start over again. I suspect that he must have been in pullups or diapers during his trip and he got used to that instead of "being a big boy".

It's just not sanitary to have a child using your carpet as a bathroom. It poses a health risk to the other children in your care.

I would explain this, and tell them that the training policies must be reinstated until he is accident free for 2 weeks, due to those health and sanitary concerns!

I have one that has regressed for some reason. Back to pull ups. Dcm won't buy them anymore, so I just buy them. Whatever. Tax deductable and saves my carpet. Everyday dck reminds dcm that they are wearing pull ups here because they haven't been dry for 2 weeks and dcm just says, your too big for those. I keep telling her when dck is accident free for 2 weeks, then they will be gone, but not until. Stick your ground. If you need them back in pull ups, then it's back in pull ups. Who wants to have to clean carpets all the time? The others don't want to sit/play in it either.

ITA - focus on the sanitary issue. Hopefully he won't want to be in pull ups and will stop having accidents right away.
