    I just want to cry!

These kids are driving me nuts! (2, 2 & 3)They won't listen, they are climbing the walls (literally! Walls, chairs, tables, book shelves!)
We are experiencing yucky weather, rainy then snowy then very windy, all in a day! The kids never come fully prepared, everyday its a different kid, missing ski pants, or mittens or a hat. Not that we can go outside anyways the weather being like it is and the yard/park is a mess.
I can't get them to focus on an activity, they fight and scream. We do art and they draw/glue on the wall beside them. Take art away, try some physical activity and that just makes them worse! I'm so frustrated on having to repeat myself over and over and over!
I'm SOOOOOOO glad tomorrow is Friday cuz I'd seriously have to take a mental health day.
I still have 3 hours to go until nap

Hang in there! My go-to activity on days like this is to take out sensitive skin shaving cream, roll up their sleeves, sit them down at a table, and play in the shaving cream.

Another good one is to cover a whole table with paper and give them stickers, markers, crayons, and decorate the whole table.

Try something open-ended, but different. Maybe make home-made play doh?

Just look for something that you can use to get them all engaged and sitting. Then, just count the hours until it is over!

      I'm sorry:hug:

I hope your day gets better! My kids love to play in shaving cream, they will also play at the water table forever on days we can't go outside.

Big hugs. My two year olds love it when I tape a big piece of paper under the table and let them color it while they're on the floor, upside down.

Or I put on some dance music and we do calesthenics

(((HUGS))) I'm having the same problem! I'm 2 seconds away from crying or pulling out my hair! I'm so ready for the weekend.

Gak is my go-to, because I don't bring it out much. Also music and dancing!

Thanks for the ideas (and encouraging words) ladies!

The mood for today is destructive, if I give them shaving cream it will be ALL over the place in seconds, like on the ceiling, the walls everywhere. My one guy is taking toys and hitting everything with them. The kid has been on time out like 5 times today already.

I may try the water buckets, I know I have a large one somewhere. If this keeps up I think I will send them to bed early today.

When my kids get like that I actually put them all at the table or in high chairs with ONE activity. I set a timer and that's how long they play with that toy. When the timer goes off they switch. They are away from each other and have to sit. I found that if they get too wild this is the one sure way to calm them. That said, I would be taking all the kids out for walks at least. If they are cold or get wet I make sure to point that out to parents. No way am I keeping kids in!

                        I do this too.

Also, I have extra clothes for those who forget theirs but they stay at my house when the child leaves for the day. Sure, I shouldn't have to have extra jackets or pants but it makes my day WAY easier so it is worth it not to mention I am not 'complaining' in my head about their forgetfulness. That in itself reduces my stress. Besides, I have a daughter who is a single mom and I feel for people who have to juggle it all. It is no bother to have some spare clothes at my house.

I have already given extra naps to 2 year olds. They don't have to sleep long but sometimes an hour nap at about 10 a.m. produces marvelous results. They usually still sleep at naptime (maybe not as long) but if they don't it is still worth the peace to me. Their sleep needs seem to even out over the week if I need to do this even 2 or 3 days.

Here lately I have been doing some 'unconventional' things like this cause my 2 year old grandson can be totally nuts if he is tired.

We should be given medals for watching two year olds!
