I decided I had enough of a DCB 2.5 years who is very impulsive & shows signs of ADHD. I know I will terminate would like to know how much notice do you give the parent & a great term letter would be appreciated. (It’s my first btw) Tuesday he severely bit another child; yesterday he kicked me extremely hard in the knee as I carried him to time out aggressive behavior. I wrote incident reports on both of them & gave them to DCM to paper trail him out the door. I am secretly counting down for strike 3 (& he’s out).
A little vent now… Any given day he taking toys from others, hoarding, disruptive, pushing, hitting, running, etc. He shows up at 2:30pm with no nap & throws tantrums when placed in time out. Meltdowns are daily. He screams when he gets here, knowing it will wake the napping children so he can play with them. I’m exhausted & have told DCM he gets over 95% of my attention/time. I have been advising her to modify his nutrition to help him focus & make better choices. After the bit incident on Monday, he shows up on Tuesday with a sack of McD’s. At 23 yrs old, she said she doesn’t see how modifying his diet will control his attention seeking behavior. He has been here two months & really no significant improvement to his behavior overall outside of the fact he is capable of taking direction. ie: washing hands, picking up toys , gives back toy he snatches when instructed to, etc. I do not want to count down the minutes until he gets here nor count down time mom will pick him up. I’m done.
ps… I haven't been on here lately because I have to closely watch his behavior to prevent him from hurting another child.
