Overnight Rate?.. Help

So I have a DCP that is asking for overnight care for 1 day (btw it's her 2nd time) the last time they were here at regular drop off in the morning 8:30am and weren't picked up until 4:30 pm the next day. I didnt charge her much because she said she would pick them up early (thinking maybe noon) but no.. It was only 1 hour earlier . She has the same plan as before but this time I need to figure out a rate for her so she knows ahead of time.
Any suggestions?..

I have never provided overnight care so others may have a better suggestion! I think I would at LEAST double my normal daily rate, if not a little more. That would just be for the overnight part, I would charge my normal daily rate the next day.

I occasionally do overnights mostly for a boy who's dad passed away last year very young and when his mom needs to be out of town for work...I charge my daily rate for the night ( from my closing time until drop off time the next day) and if he's here the next day, I charge for that day at the regular rate as well...she doesn't mind because she has no one else to keep him and he's so well-behaved that I don't mind (he's been here since he was 10 months old and he's 8 now) ..

I do overnight care at least once a week. I charge double my day rate. So if my rate were $20 per day (which it isn't) it would be $20 for normal day, $40 for overnight and another $20 for the following day. Does that make sense? ::

Per child, right? Cause there's 2 children. My daily rate averages to $30/day each.

I close at 6pm, dcp is dropping them off on a Thursday regular morning time (8:30am) and isn't picking them up until 4pm the next day (Friday)so we are talking about 32 hours

You can also try charging by the hour like $2-3/hr per kid or $4-5/hr for both for the entire time starting after daycare hours. That is still cheaper than a babysitter in CA (average babysitter charges $9-15/hour for more than one kid).

Also be careful about licensing because sometimes you may need a special license (foster care license) to provide constant care for more than 24 hours striaght and you need to record all of your income. Unless of course you already have that license.

If your daily rate is $25/day (8:30-6:00), then have them pay double for overnight (12.5 hours) or at the very least charge your typical hourly rate.

Night is a separate deal. Charge your typical rate for BOTH days, even if she does pick up early, then charge what you want for the night separately.
And yes, for both kids.

I work hourly and charge $25 per kid for the night time rate, and start my hourly rate at their typical drop off time. So they would pay hourly from drop off to typical pick up. $25 per child for the overnight, and hourly from their typical drop off to pick up.
