    What Was I Thinking???

    I have one SA dcg who is 8. She has a brother who just turned 5 last weekend so he will be starting school in the fall. I had made up my mind NO MORE SA!!!! And that school got out for the summer I was going to let these two go because I don't want to deal with SA kids over summer break.

    So, what do I do...made an appointment for an interview tomorrow for (2) SA kids, ages 5 and 9 and they will be needing summer care.

    WHY!!!! What's wrong with ME!!!!

    I'm going to call back and cancel. I think I felt a little desperate because of all the issues this morning, but I already know it won't work and I really want to focus on toddlers/preschoolers rather than trying to entertain 4 SA kids all summer...nope, not doing it.

      I hear you! I had a call for a 6 yo boy about a month ago and I still haven't called the mom back yet. (need a bag-over-head smilie) I have my own 6 & 8 yo boys and am dreading having them home all day this summer. I really can't imagine another one running around here!

      But I have a friend who takes infants-preschoolers during the school year then over the summer they find alternative care because she runs a school-age-only program all summer. I can't imagine it, but it works for her.

        Just Cancel,
        for me, I NEVER make a profit with SA's. They EAT A-LOT, and I spend more on crafts and activities and then they are always BORED....
        I never want to take SA's again

          I'd rather live in my car and eat from dumpsters than care for SA children.

            I'm so with you on that one! I had one SA kid.....he was my first and last. I'd have to charge infant price! No, double infant price.

              LOL, your soooo right. SA fee's should be higher than infant rate. they do require more attention than infants

                :: ME, TOO!

                I'm sure you will get plenty of calls for 5 and under children soon. Don't do it!

                    I wouldnt mind SA if I didnt have any littles. then you could get into more activities and not worry about littles getting into things they shouldnt. I am going to have at least 3 SA this summer, 2 are mine, maybe 4. I am going to be more structured with activities than I have been recently so I dont go nuts.

                      I love SA I love my years as a Den leader and a youth leader at church BUT it was one group of the same age... no littles

                      I do not like to mix. my great SA I have after school are not so great now. They get upset about the littles who just want to play with them and are acting like a 3 yr old. hoping they do not come back in the fall.
