Had To Enforce Payment Policy Today :(

So I feel some what bad about this....long story short.

This DCP has had payment issues from the start...hardly pay on time or in full. One sad story after another....well I have had it! This week I receive no PAY with no notice at all...so I put my foot down...YOUR KIDS ARE NOT WELCOMED BACK!

I do feel a little bad...but I do feel good about putting my family first.

I hate this part of the JOB

Good for you for standing you ground and NOT working for free.

Just because you are strict about enforcing your policies doesn't automatically mean you don't have a heart and don't feel bad.

I feel bad all the time but I still do what I need to do to keep my business going.

Same thing here this morning...but I've been getting a lot of calls lately so I'm sure to fill the spot quickly. I have two to fill now though. One just plain no showed, and I think they've gone to another provider without even bothering to inform me.

The other is just consistently paying late and now owes me for two weeks, plus late fees. They come to me with their sob stories about how their car is broke down and parts are all over from them trying to fix it.

They don't think that without my fees I don't have the money to pay for food for THEIR kids...and MY car is sitting in MY driveway needing new brakes before I take it anywhere.

I worked for my money also and deserve the same right to fix my car when it's broke down as they do...sorry...just in a P**** mood today.

          good for you!
we are all learning to put ourselves first, and its OHHH so hard LOL

i had to do the same thing with a young single mother, first time her child was in dc and she was always having the hardest time making payments, getting her mother to pay and everything.. smh.. After about 3 mnths, mom had to stop helping because of her bills and when i mentioned to the dcm that she had gotten one week behind and i needed her to get current in order to keep providing care, she said she would try to come up with the money but i guess she couldnt cuz she never came back...

I suppose it comes with the territory. The main thing to remember is that you always have to do what is best for your family the same way they have to decide what is best for theirs. I think it eases the sting a bit.

Me too. The two things I hate most about this job is finances and filling openings.

Yea, you and me both...now I have to start advertising to fill TWO spots.

                        Wish me luck!

Thank you all...yall sure now how to make a gal feel better

I was stressing myself all weekend over this...thinking maybe if I lower her rate or offer to take another form of payment "free labor" but after thinking about it...she already get's a two for one deal basically...she came in paying a very low rate for 2 kids and she still can't seem to pay on time and in full each week.

I do hate to see anyone going thorough hard times...but I know I can't allow my emotions to get the best of me...are I will be the one going thorough hard times.

                          Thanks yall!
