    Guess Who Just Showed Up...

The one family who owes me money...for two weeks (because they paid biweekly) plus 2 days late fees!!!

The dad comes in telling me all his problems of having to pay so much money for his car problems over the weekend.

TOO BAD!!! Bring the money, or you won't have childcare!!!

Did he bring all the money they owe?

    Did you keep the kids?

At this point I would call them and/or send them a letter talking about how they owed money, didn't show up, no communication etc. I'd include the balance that they owe now along with a termination notice. If they keep it up they'll never catch back up. If you terminate their contract now and bill them for what they owe and actually talk to them to explain to them that you are cancelling the contract so that they don't fall further behind you're more likely to see the balance paid and even possibly have them come back (if you would accept them) and start over on a new contract. If you keep their contract open they'll keep accumulating a ridiculous amount of money that they'll never be able to pay back.

ITA - Besides, with the contract ended you could look for children to fill the spot, in case they never come back. I once had a family get several hundred dollars behind in payments and it was really hard to get them to catch up.

I think you're right. I know it's just a matter of time before they will have to leave anyways so I may as well help them along. Thanks for the feed back

And NO...I won't be having them back. This is the second go around and I won't go for round 3. The first time they left without notice and didn't pay for the last day the child was in car. They had only been here less than 2 weeks though so I let them get away with it and took her back...no more though.
