    Early Dismissal Irritation

Today is a half day for the SA in my area and I'm supposed to be getting a dcb off the bus at 12:35... Here we sat 30 minutes past nap time and bundled up, waiting for a bus that is STILL not here. Now all the kids are anticipating him getting off and don't want to nap. I'm so irritated. This has thrown our whole day off. OBVIOUSLY the parent has given me the wrong time. I should have just called the school myself because apparently no one else did and they just gave me a guesstimate. ONLY 1 MORE DAY LEFT. Cheers to the 3 day weekend!!!!!!

Go to the school's website. Most likely they will have a yearly schedule there. I ALWAYS keep a schedule because a lot of times the parents don't even know when their kids have half days, or no school. Could't tell you how many times kids would show up in the am and I'd mention there was no school to mom and she didn't even know it.

In my town, the buses are NOTORIOUSLY late on early dismissal days. Usually they run late, sometimes early. I literally have to block an hour of time to wait for the bus (11:45-12:45) on those days. It is sooooo obnoxious!

        How frustrating!

In WI if a child doesn't arrive within a certain timeframe (my policies say 30 min) of their scheduled time we have to call the parents to find out where the child is. There have been so many children left in cars and busses that dcps are responsible to make sure the children get to our programs safely.
