Sooo...We Have Noro Virus Going Around

A few of the dcks have had it, and I had a HORRIBLE case of it over the weekend - I passed out 6 times! I had a dcg vomit a little while ago. Would you send home after only one episode of vomiting?

Of course, she is acting fine now! I am having trouble keeping her isolated. But I know I felt better each time I got sick, only to have it come back with a vengeance a while later!

Definitely send her home. Once and gone.

Since you absolutely know there is something going around, you know this isn't going to be the end of it...send her home ASAP.

I would definitely send her home. Norovirus is so contagious, over half our church got it a couple of years ago just because the person who prepared the communion had it! If you already have confirmed cases, you can pretty much assume she has it as well. I wouldn't take the chance.

Absolutely! I would not allow her back for at least 24, maybe 48 hours. My youngest ended up in the hospital for 5 days with norovirus. It was brought in by a dcg who came back too soon and gave it to EVERYONE.

I have a little guy out with it right now, the CDC says that it is contagious while the symptoms are present and for three days after!

I would definitely send her home after one instance of throwing up.

At DD's dance class this morning, one little girl threw up in the lobby and I was so ticked that the mom stayed in the lobby with the little girl because the sister was in dance class - take all of yourselves home, you have vomit on your clothes.

I would send home immediately. One time is more than enough. Even if it is overeating/phlegm/coughing...whatever excuse the parent wants to use, after one vomit they go home and stay home for 24 hours. Even if it turns out they were not really sick, you still have the mess to clean up and that takes away from the supervision of your other kids.
