    Full Moon?

My kids have been crazy the last 2 days and I just realized we have a full moon tonight. Just wondering if anyone else notices a change in behavior when there is a full moon? I know a lot of people do not believe it makes a difference, but I say those people have clearly never worked with children :: I usually do not even know when we have a full moon, unless I look it up based on the children's behaviors and every time it is within a couple of days of a full moon. I am just curious what other providers experience. Am I crazy or do your little ones go crazy at full moon time?

I haven't checked to see if its a full moon when my group is crazy. I'll have to keep it in mind. How often is a full moon, 2-3 times a week?

ABSOLUTELY...This is exactly what happens with me also. Kids will be off the wall and if I check I usually find out there IS a full moon. It's not like I check to see if there's a full moon and THEN think the kids are out of control...I go by their behaviors and usually right.

Even when I worked at the school with middle schoolers...same thing. And sometimes I will have this 'feeling' within myself...a moodiness or down feeling or anxiety and discover there's a full moon.

Always. No nap. And when I'm about to tear my hair out, I think "I wonder if it's a full moon?" and it always is.

I used to work in customer service and swore by the full-moon theory. Every month, a week before the full moon, the crazies would start calling in and the number and intensity of calls would build until the night of the full moon. Once that night passed, the number of calls would drop off and the customers, in general, became much more pleasant. As a supervisor there, I handled more irate callers during the week leading up to the full moon than I did all month long. I see the same pattern with the kids. It's just easier to work with the children vs, adults who act like children during the full moon!

My mother used to work as a teacher's aide when I was growing up. She always said she could tell when there was a full moon or a snow storm coming based on the kids' behavior. If I remember right, there were more than a few times when she predicted a storm before the tv weathermen did.

Oh yeah! We fully believe in the full moon theory in my center. We consider it the high holy day for all of our criers and behavioral problems. We even mark the calendar.
