Thought I would put up a poll in light of the recent thread.

hmm, I maybe get flamed But, I really don't mind tatoos (will be getting one) but I think there has to be a line were you want to look professional. First impressions are everything, doesn't matter what anyone says.- Flag

I don't think you'll get flamed for saying that. I think we can all agree that first impressions are very important.
That said, I am careful not to shove my wrist in a potential clients face so that they can see mine.- Flag

I like them (have 1 that isn't visible) and do think they could negatively impact someone's professional appearance.- Flag

I am covered head to toe in tattoos and I have five facial piercings. I KNOW it doesn't negatively affect my business. I have only had 2 interviewees pass me up in all my years of doing daycare - one was because the family was french and opted for a bilingual daycare and the other was because they didn't want to pay me over the summer (both parents teachers). I have clients from all walks of life and they don't see my tatts or piercings at all. They are part of my body.- Flag

I have 2 that are both small and tasteful and sentimental.
I wouldn't want someone watching my kids that had garish tattoos of skulls and dragons etc. or had them on their face and neck. Not really a fan of facial piercings either, a small nose stud is okay but lips, eyebrows, and tongues - not so much.- Flag

Have them and love them. However, I do think that an excessive amount that are are always shown can be tacky. Then again I have seen women with full sleeves that look awesome. I think it depends on what the tattoo is and has a lot to do with the persons personality
I'm getting one on my wrist soon....can't wait! I think they are cute on the wrist
I have a tiny nose stud and have never had anyone say anything negative. All positive! Usually I hear "oh that's so cute and tiny....I would love one like that"
QUESTION: For those of you that love tattoos, at what age would you let your child get one???- Flag

My daughter may get herself tattooed when she turns 18. Although I will stress the importance of thinking about living with it LONG TERM. You really need to put thought into everything you get and it needs to mean something to you. I'm not a fan of people that just go pick something off the wall at the shop because it "looks pretty cool". As far as piercings I got my eyebrow pierced when I was 14 with my moms approval and signature. I would do the same for my daughter. By 17 I had my eyebrow, an industrial, a vertical industrial, 3 lobe piercings (2 of which were gauged), and a cartilage ring. Still have all but I let the gauges down and don't keep any thing in my eyebrow. I think piercings are harmless. But tattoos need a lot of thought and dedication.- Flag

I've been thinking about his 17th birthday.... I just don't know!
I also hate wall tattoos! My first one is a wall tattoo and I have regretted it for years! Never again- Flag

This is what I was taught. My dad has many tattoos and whenever he went to work he was sure to cover them. On weekends or out with friends he didn't care.- Flag
