    Boo Boo ??

So, I have a 13 month old that is still toddling around. He's separated in a safe area, but accidents happen. He was carrying stacking buckets and tripped over his own feet, and received a goose egg bump above his right eye. I iced it down as best as I could, being that he's a squirrely 1 yr. old - it's not the easiest of tasks.

My question... Is this something I should call Mom on? It's not horrible, but it's a medium sized goose egg. At first I didn't see anything wrong, but could tell by the cry it was something more than a basic irritation, after a few minutes the goose egg popped out. Since it's just above his eye, I was thinking I should call. Thoughts?

I could take a picture and send it to Mom?

I might text her first, something like, "Ooops! Joey took a spill and got a big ol' bump on his noggin. He cried a bit and I tried to ice it, but he calmed down quickly and toddler off again. Just wanted to let you know so you're not surprised at pick up time!"

Then text a picture next, especially if you can get one of him grinning: "Hey ma! Look at my new badge of honor!" or something.
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

Thanks! This is good advice. I hate when they get hurt, I know it's part of life - things happen. I just feel bad for the little guy.

Yes, I always call or text regarding these things (even for my preschoolers). I dont want them being surprised at pick-up.

I took a picture and sent it. It's really not that bad, little bruise and the puffiness went down. I never had a problem with these buckets before, but he must have just caught the side with the handle? When he returns on Monday, it'll probably not even be an issue. Just wanted to give a heads up. These parents aren't the parents to get all upset when something like this happens, they are very understanding, down to earth parents when it comes to 'real life'. They know I love their munchkin and do everything possible to keep him safe

Better out then in! Supposedly goose eggs are better than an indention.

Yes I would do exactly as you did and write up a report and make a copy to keep.
