I don't even need to read it.... I was yelling along with you all along!

My argument is "we" are not fat because we drink whole milk. We are fat because we eat fast & processed food, drink soda, and have goodies at our disposal at all times.

I have to agree! My 3 kids grew up on whole milk and they never had a weight issue and are still very thin adults. We never had 1% milk in our home till recently.

They also didn't watch much tv, play nintendo or eat junk/fast food either, BUT were active in sports & dance.

I'm all for healthy, but sometimes I think common sense gets thrown out the window!

HAHAHA! I didn't read the article. I can't believe our Government really thought switching to skim milk would fix things.

We used to get milk straight from the dairy and never had a weight problem. I never really gained weight till I was in my mid 30's and had 5 babies!

Just eat how healthy and you should be fine!

I drank whole milk until I was 16, never once overweight!

I also give the kids whole milk (but I keep low-fat in the fridge for when the FP looks in there.) The body needs fat to absorb the calcium too!

I LOVE whole milk. I hate that I have to feed the dc kids 1% (or skim which I won't do!) because they are used to whole milk at home so in the sink it goes.

I love whole milk especially straight from the cow. I didn't want to switch my two and ups down to the lower fatted but I had to bcuz of the food program. If I weren't on the food program I would do whole till age 5.

The State of California does not allow us to give kids anything besides 1%. I have pretty much given up on giving the kids milk. They will eat it with their cereal but will not drink a glass of it. I went from 6 gals of 2% to 3 gals of 1% a week. Most of that is drank by my sil in his coffee.

My kids grew up on the dreaded Kool-Aid and whole milk. Both were scrawny kids until PCOS hit when they were teens. Both have documented endocrine issues.

We only drink full fat straight from the farm milk. Milk fat has NOTHING to do with childhood obesity.

I' am no surprised at all by those results. We are a fast food society, thats why we are fat! Interesting article though.

I am moving to a new city, and will be doing daycare there also. This is one reason I'm thinking of NOT joining the food program. Some of their regulations are ridiculous.
