    Transition Activities

I need some ideas for good transition activities, in the following areas
    language development,
    math,
    science,
    social studies
    physical development.

    Thanks

It depends on group size, some are:

    1) Count them off into 2,3 or 4 groups. All ones hop here. All twos take giant steps, etc. (math and physical)

    2) Everyone with a blue shirt line up. Green shirt. Pink shirt. (math/ language)

    3) If your name starts with A, J, K, etc. (language)

    4) Girls/ boys/ ages can be social as can singing cultural songs (Frere Jacques or songs from other cultures)

    5) Who thinks we should collect rocks? shells? leaves? (Do a chart of their responses, winning response goes first, next goes next) (Math and science)
Just google "preschool transitions" There are tons.

I never really left childcare all together. But i did get the DHS to finally realize all the false accusations regarding my ability to care for kids were indeed false. Now i am back to the usual waiting to get some more kids to fill my daycare slots. Actually one of my daycare moms is currently on bed rest. Once she has her baby in June, providing she can get a good job, i will have the baby and the big sister whome i already have had before. She can only afford daycare when she is actually working so hopefully things work out because it would be a huge blessing for me! Even if it means taking care of a newborn again.
