    Books About Cowboys? Deserts?

I always order books from scholastic that relate to our theme that month, then rotate them out for the next theme, reserving a few favorites.

Anyway, I am having a terrible time finding books about deserts & cowboys for the prek age group.

I have one on snakes (and already had that from life cycles last spring) , and that is IT.

    HELP!

        Cowboys and Deserts

My kiddos love Cowpokes by Caroline Stutson. They always take turns picking which cowpoke they want to be. Armadillo Rodeo by Jan Brett is a fun book. I love Just Like My Dad by Tricia Gardella but I'm not sure if it's in print any more.

For deserts, our favorites are The Three Little Javelinas and Tortoise and Jackrabbit by Susan Lowell. Her illustrations are charming. You can find some of the same characters in both books.

The Hank the Cow Dog books are for about 2nd graders and up, but they are really terrific books for reading aloud, especially if you are into doing voices. Every kid over 2 that I've read them to was totally addicted to them.

Try "The Ravioli Kid". I can't remember the author though. Sorry.
