This morning I had a knock at the door. Two older people came in with a 4ish year old boy. They had blanket and spare clothes and everything a child needs for the day. I said "um, can I help you?" and they said they were looking for a daycare for their grandson. I got the feeling they meant starting immediately so I asked if he had been in care previously. they said yes and can you believe they just paid $300 ON monday now they are looking for new care! Meanwhile the boy is pulling all of my construction paper out of my shelf. I noticed that it looked like he was in diapers and may have had delays. "how old is he? 4?5?" Yes, grandma said. Then as I am trying to convince myself not to give a trial, she mutters something about how the director mentioned kidnapping! As I turned and said "Huh?" My alarm clock went off!

I even got interupted while reading...and was stressing out while saying goodbye to my hubby who is leaving for second shift job..
then I got settled back down and RE READ...

and yep, you are not the only one that has daycare nightmares. Mine are usually more like I run out of food for lunch, or that they are just running around screaming and total chaos!Comment

the one I have alot is where kids just keep coming in the door and i end up with 20, then of course I get a surprise inspection! The other week I had one where minutes before my 18 mo DCK got picked up I realized I hadnt touched his lunchbox all day and he had slept all day!Comment

I was about to say "These people are nuts, if they just show up like that- let there kid just mess up your house and the kid is 5 years old and still in diapers" ::
I had a dream one time about this annoying dcg at a home daycare I used to work at (at that time it had been a while since I had even worked there). I dreamed she did something bad and I started yelling at her and grabbed her by the arms (which I have never done) to take her to time out and I guess I pulled her so hard her head fell off and then I freaked out and when I couldn't find her head so I tried to replace it with everything from a doll's head to a football (I think I even tried a lemon)

:: That scared me for a minute! Mine is that I'm asleep in bed (naked, for some reason) and I have all these dcks running around still and a parent or licensing worker will come into my bedroom and I have no idea how many kids I have or what the kids have been doing and I can't get out of bed because I'm naked!

I had one the other night where we had over 20 toddlers and our director was running around yelling that we had to hide some of them because we had inspection in 15 minutes! I think it was the night after I read the thread on here about a home daycare that had 30 or 40 kids.Comment

In the dream I was originally talking about, I was holding the 18 mo the whole time and when I looked down, he was a sandwich!Comment
