Do You Wash Bedding Or Send It Home ?

I was wondering how many of you send home children's bedding weekly or do you wash it ? Currently I wash it weekly, because I honestly feel like it would be confusing to send it home and get everyone's back (what if they forget ?)... But I really don't care for doing the extra laundry.

Also, if a child has an accident during nap - do you wash those sheets or send them home to be washed that night ?

I wash all bedding weekly or more often if needed. I don't want to deal with sending it home and hoping parents remember to bring it back on Monday. I typically provide all of the bedding unless the parents want to send a special "blankie" for them and definately would not send my stuff home.

I can't vote, I haven't gotten this quite figured out myself yet either.

Currently I'm all over the place. I provide alot of my own bedding and of course wash it myself as needed. But then a couple kids send sheets for their PNPs and I have both washed it myself and sent it back for them to wash and return. Then I also have a kid who sends his special blankie to keep here, so I send it back every 2 weeks to be washed. And another who exclusively washes their own stuff every week or 2 and returns. I think hypoallergenic is really important to them.

So I don't know. I think over time I'd like to move toward providing more of my own stuff because it's just such a hassle. I'd like the PNPs to be my own instead of theirs so I don't have to worry if they were to get damaged or soiled. And most of the bedding is mine already and that's much easier but I don't know.

Good question, I'm interested to hear more answers about this.

I do the washing. I honestly can't imagine parents getting it back each Monday. My state requires mats or sleeping bags. I went with the sleeping bags.

They provide the sl. bags. I can honestly see some parents leaving them in the car over the weekend and just bringing them back in Monday am.

I don't mean that in a bad way.....I just know how busy parents are.

It's just a little extra service i provide and I know I will have the kids' bedding each Monday.

        I also provide pnp sheets.

I have alot of sheets, especially since as of this weekend my kids will both be in twin beds. I only have on child who uses a sheet regularly and he takes it home, but I know she will bring it back! other kids, I use my sheets and wash them myself

When I opened, they provided them and washed them. I began to wonder if some of them were truly washed ...

So, I began provided a crib sheet and fleece blanket (I have a rainbow of colors cut from fleece fabric) for each cot. The kids now call Friday "wash day" because they make a pile of crib sheets and a pile of fleece blankets for me to wash. It isn't too difficult for me and at least I know they're being washed!

I supply all bedding, pillow & pillowcase, blanket, sheet and mat. I wash the pillowcase, blanket, sheet daily (yes, daily)and sanitize the mats with bleach solution. I toss them all in the washing machine right after nap, and in the dryer while they are eating snack. That way when I fold them and stack them back up they are all clean and there is no germ sharing.

I'm also mixed on this. I currently have 2 that leave their pillow andblanket here and I wash it and 3 that sometimes leave them here and sometimes take them home and forget to bring them back. So then I use my own things and wash them. Providing my own would probably work out better.

I wash it on Fridays because I provide all bedding. I would hate to send it home and not get it back

I provide it and wash it. I have extra sheets and blankets so that takes care of an accidents. On Fridays everyone puts the bedding in the basket and I wash it. If anyone has a personal blanket here I toss it in with the rest of the load.

I was all bedding every Friday after nap.

Also, every day when we come in from outside, the kids change into fresh clothes, I wash the dirty ones and restock the cubbies with the freshly washed ones.

I provide all of the kids bedding and I wash it all here, every Friday after nap also. No way would I be sending it home and hoping get it back on Monday. I store each child nap stuff in separate drawers.

I provide it all, so I wash it all. Friday is my daycare wash day too. After nap it all gets thrown into the washing machine.

My "big kids" kids all have a small pillow and 2 blankets. My "little kids" all have a fitted bottom pack and play sheet and sleep sack.

I have enough for everyone, but at enrollment I do give them the option to bring their own if they prefer. However, whatever they bring stays here, I don't allow blankets to be hauled back and forth daily.

I wash them all on Friday. If they have a pee or spit up accident, I will wash them. On rare occasion I have had a "little kid" have a blow out diaper during nap that gets on their sleep sack or crib sheet. I do send those home to be laundered. I have extras, so if they forget to bring it back the next day, I am OK.
