In order to get that many kids to lay like that side by side they HAD to be dopeing them. Did the authorities even THINK to drug screen those kids?

I really don't understand several things about this...

First of all how could she have so many kids? This is EXTREME over ratio, not even a little "fudging." Is this extreme greed? Hoarding? Desperation?

And I agree, how in the world could that many kids be naturally asleep so close to one another, and all in pretty much the same pose on their bellies? Was this photo staged (I don't mean that in a bad way), but like when they found them they told them all lay down so we can take your picture? Or are they actually drugged? But wouldn't that be discovered immediately if they tried to wake the kids and they were all oddly groggy?

Did the kids ever come home with a craft?

Did the provider ever send pictures of kids doing activities?

How could their be no injuries with that many children in a small space?

The stress level must be through the roof for those kids from overstimulation, conflict, illness, etc etc etc.

Didn't the children say anything to their parents? Many are of age to talk.

Didn't they lose weight? How many assistants were there, how could you possibly feed that many? How could their possibly be enough hours in the day to change that many diapers? How could the house not REEK like diapers and be coated in food mess? How could they not have diaper rashes? How could their possibly be time to hold bottles for tiny babies?

I just don't see how it could possibly get to this level!

So in her mind she may have thought numbers wise it was legal. Not trying to make excuses but sometimes it's not so cut and dried. I did find the comment section to be telling - clearly someone knew she wasn't doing what she was supposed to be.
Yeah some of the articles and the videos do tend to contradict each other a bit on her licensing status. But even If she thought she was licensed for that many kids the age ratios were way off. She had 9 kids under the age of two. With a large family license in CA you cannot have more than 4 under the age of two also its against regulations to leave children unattended espesually in car seats (major safety violation).

And if they are sleeping so close and criss-crossed like that, why would you let them sleep with their shoes on? That is a bloody/broken nose or a black eye waiting to happen! Seriously, it isn't rocket science!

They found sippy bottles, water bottles, and cups hidden throughout the house full of alcohol. If it wasn't for that home visit.......... I shudder to think.

The thing was, she'd clean them up and feed them just before parent pick-up. And because she was so highly functioning and looked so normal, the parents never knew.

It's stories like that that led me to do daycare, not use one. Can you imagine the guilt the parents must feel? People can be sneaky, deceiving liars. You never know what lengths they can go to in order to hide the truth.
The really messed up thing I heard was when I used to work at one home daycare and she had been in business for a long time so she was close friends with her licensor and even knew the lady that always inspected her. Once during an inspection the inspector let her in on a little secret and told her that it would be perfectly legal for her to be totally drunk during daycare hours as long as she is not driving the children anywhere. I am assuming she said that because there may not be anything in the regulations that says other wise.

The provider I worked for has never done this but still you can't help to think: Why is that legal? If a parent is always drunk around their kids you are supposed to call CPS so why should someone hired to watch the children be allowed to do this? What if she was alone with a bunch of toddlers and babies and their was a fire? What if she passed out drunk and a child got injured or got out of the house?

What state is this in? I'm licensed in Oregon and you can't even have a smoker that lives in your home, let alone being drunk off your ass. All of these stores are making me sick to my stomach...how could any one that cares for children treat them like that?!?!

In CA. It was a few years ago when I was still in high school so maybe they added somethings or changed it to were there is no room for interpritation (my ECE teacher says that Title 22 changes all the time) and hopefully they did. I do know that we are not alowed to smoke on daycare property either. In fact, I read a newspaper article last spring where my city made it illeagle to smoke on daycare property inside and outside (centers and homes) even when kids are not present (24/7) due to third hand smoke exposure.

I have learned to not believe everything that is on the Internet. That picture, definately looks staged. If the story seems unbelieveable, it probably is. The media likes to sensationalize things.

:: I'm sorry, but internet information and TV information are ALL subject to whomever is reporting or writing the story.

Just because something is on TV doesn't make it any more believeable or factual than the same story on the internet.
