I have a very large deck the top is 16ft x 16ft with one step down to another 16ft x 16ft deck. I was going to make the bottom deck the kids outside play area. I have only 3 that are between 1-2 years old. They would have plenty of room to run and play. I have a pirate ship with a slide one there now that my older kids 7 and 11 still play on. I'm trying to find an acceptable outdoor carpet or rubber mats to cover the deck and keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't rot the deck. My backyard slops at least 4 feet from my house down and the deck is the only level area they would have to play. I'm in the process of buying new water/sand table and toys that rock and stuff to put out there. I just want to make sure that I have some type of carpet to put down. Maybe even gym mats and I would just have to pick them up when we come inside, but that would be a PITA! Any ideas?

Why do you want a carpet on the deck? Is it so it's a softer place for the littles to play?
I have seen garage fatique mats that have holes in them for drainage. They are made so that you can stand and work at a work bench, but you could actually hose them off when they get dirty. I would think something like that would be nicer for a deck so moisture could drain through.- Flag
