    Extrovert vs Introvert

Are most of you more extroverted or introverted? I'm definitely an extrovert. I cannot stay in my house, I need to be out. My husband once said to me, "You are a SAHM so stay at home more often!" I just rolled my eyes at him and said, "I cannot do that."

I often have the kids out and about or just have people over here. I wonder though if I'm an exception that way. I find in our home school group that most people are introverts and I wonder if it is the same with day care providers. I can see how it might be a great job for someone who doesn't want to interact with a lot of people every day.

I have a part time job in the evenings at the university taking tickets and ushering sporting events, musicals, plays, concert, etc.. It helps to fill my need for people and conversation.

    I am an
    INTROVERT
through and through. I can deal with kids, they are easy. Adults are much harder. Social engagements exhaust me. Sometimes the simple act of running errands leaves me socially "drained" and in need of some quiet time to myself. And interviews, parent pick-ups, etc are all very hard for me.

This is also why I treasure naptime because I do need that quiet in the middle of the day with no one chattering at me to decompress and recharge my "socialness" for the afternoon.

I find I am a mix of both.
I find it hard to deal with the social aspects of adults ( I never seem to day the right thing) but yet need adult contact after being with the kids all day.
I think that I am afraid of becoming a hermit if I don't watch out.

I like to be active after the kids leave it helps to manage my stress..
I love to cycle, hike, snow shoe or ski but it really isn't very much fun alone.

I would like to have more providers to do things with but that seems to be a hard thing to find too as there always seems to be a competition thing happening.
Thats why I joined this forum..
looking for support and friendships in my work at least I can cycle alone..

I have attributes of both, although I'm probably more of an introvert.

I'm an extrovert but totally have to be careful because if I start staying home to much I start becomeing a hermit and want to go now where. Sometimes though I am on the go way to much and need to slow myself down.

My hubs has said the same thing about being a SAHM and never being home. Sometimes though I feel like I'm missing out on life being home 55 hours a week working.

Also, I have noticed alot of homeschoolers are introverts. When we homeschooled the extroverts were always the ones planning everything but you could go months without seeing alot of the families. You might actually only see them once a year!

            Definitely Introvert.

That is a major part of my lack of backbone.

Introvert ALL the way. I love being in crowds (going to festivals, shows..).but only if I can go and not talk to people.
If I go away for a weekend for scrapbooking or a women's retreat at church I come home so tired and usually with a headache I love the people I go with and do enjoy myself, it's just soooooo stressful to have to be "on" all the time
I really wish I were more social-sometimes I feel like a horrible friend because I'm so bad at initiating anything fun with friends.

As an actor you need to be a extrovert, they teach it in acting schools. It is hard for most people. You kinda have to have an "I don't Give a Damn" attitude about what others think. I wish I could do that but I am more of an introvert until I get comfortable with my environment.

This is totally me. I love spending the day with littles. Nap time gives me time to recharge. I don't enjoy the chit chat that comes with parent pick up/drop off. Luckily, now and in the past, I don't have parents that just hang around talking.

I am pretty sure I am an extrovert.

Yeah, I was that student in class that always volunteered to go first for oral reports or to be the example.

I don't care what anyone else thinks of me and I would NEVER allow someone else's judgment or opinion define me in any way shape or form.

However.........as I age, I prefer to be alone. I have hobbies and interests that will occupy me until I die and I will still probably have a list of things to do a million miles long afterwards.....

I appreciate the silence at times and at other times, I will speak outloud to myself just so I can have a conversation with someone.

I am an introvert by nature. However, I learned to be some what of an extrovert when teaching.

I speak to myself a lot just to hear a voice I used to get head aches in lecture classes in college because I couldn't speak for an hour.

                            Seriously, seriously, seriously introverted. Seriously.

I would be happy being left alone all the time but with this job that's impossible. So by the end if the day just from the amount of talking I do to kids and parents it's enough to make me super exhausted, but not physically. Just mentally. I always joke that I'm going to go dig a hole and live in it...ha ha like a Hobbit (and I'm a huge Tolkien-head and book nerd too!). But it's not that much of a joke. I'd love to be left alone...sounds heavenly!

I APPEAR to be an extrovert because that's how I learned to be socially accepted growing up (Aspie).

I AM an introvert. A big one. ::
