Snow Days - Questions for Center Staff...

I'm curious about policies at your center for snow/inclement weather days:

    1) How does your center decide when to close?

    2) Do parents still pay for the day if the center closes due to inclement weather?

    3) Are staff paid if the center closes?

If you have anything from a policy handbook, I would love to see it. I am the director at a center and we are reviewing our inclement weather policies after a huge storm here in Wichita.

    Thank you!!

I have had a center in the past. We followed our local school systems inclement weather policy. So basically we let them make the call. If they closed, we closed. If they opened late or closed early, so did we. Parents still paid for the day and our staff still got paid for the day. Although we never had a parent complain about paying for the day because we don't have snow days built into our school schedule here. If the school closed that meant it would be open on a day that it was originally scheduled to be closed to make up the day and therefore so would our center.
