    What Do You Do To Re-Energize?

    I have been reading all of the great advice on this site for a while now, but just registered today in order to ask:
    What do you do in order to re-energize and re-charge yourselves?
    I love my job. I have been a childcare provider for 7 years now and I love the kids, I have been blessed with really great DCPs, I love working from home and I love being available to my own children but I have found myself really disengaged and apathetic the last month or so. Usually Mondays and Tuesdays are okay (rest for the weekend helps I am sure ) but Wed, Thurs and Fridays are a struggle. The last two weeks or so the weekend break has not been enough to "bring back that lovin' feeling". I don't know how to define exactly what is wrong, I am just cranky all the time. Sorry for the vagueness of the question, but what do other providers do to re-charge and enjoy the day and the job?

    Do you have any hobbies or passions you indulge yourself in to break up the monotony?

    Just knowing I have somewhere fun to go or something fun to do at the end of the day makes even the toughest of days easier to get through

        What is wrong with you, coolconfidentme??!!! I'm just kidding. I don't see running as relaxation, maybe because I don't know how to run and breathe at the same time.... ::

        I like to go to the gym to recharge. I have a membership to a 24 hour gym so I can go when my kids and hubby are asleep and have some me time. Or reading... Gardening...

            I have allowed all of my hobbies to fade out as my kids have gotten busier and I think that is contributing to the feeling that childcare is all I do. I need to squeeze in a little time for my own interests also. Although that is easier said than done. I will TRY!

              Exercising, going out to eat with friends, bicycling with my husband, sitting on my deck or front porch and taking in nature, visiting the local coffee shop, making cards with my card/srapbooking group, shopping with my BFF or daughters!

                I've got nothing, but this is me exactly right now. Tues/Thursdays are especially the worst as that's when my extremely challenging DCB is here. It colors the rest of the week because I'm dreading those days and I need to get out of this funk!

                      Funny, I was going to say running too! I certainly don't run marathons (yet) but I log 10ish miles a week and it somehow completely changes my outlook on life. It's crazy relaxing for me. My brain goes into survival mode (breathe, breathe, breathe, don't trip on that rock, that skateboarder has amazing abs, breathe breathe...) and by the time I get back... I don't know, it's like the stress has literally melted away.

                      On more than one occasion I have wanted to pick fights with my DH, gone for a run, and come back just totally in love with him again. Two more benefits: the fresh air, and being AWAY FROM THE WORKPLACE/home. When I get back, I feel like the transition has been made between my work day and my home day.

                      I'd recommend downloading the "Couch to 5k" app if you're just starting out!

                        I play bunco 1x a month. garden, read, take walks, get out of the house. It does not matter for what I need to get out of the house for some reason around Thursday.
                        It:: will wait
