    Questions About Terming

I would like to know how you deal with teeming a dcc. Are you worried about what it would do to the reputation of your daycare? Do you tell your other families/other dcc's. What if families ask? What if other dcf are friendly or reffered by family you termed.

sounds like a difficult term. so the DCF you are terming has refered other DCF's to you.
you dont have to tell your other DCF's why you termed or why the kid dont come no more. but i am sure they will find out from the other DCF.
is the DCK the reason for term or are there issues with the DCP?

I think it always depends on the situation, it's usually not easy BUT the relief is soooo worth it if you have a problems that can't be resolved. I don't worry about my reputation but so far the parents have pretty much understood. A bad mouthing parent could be an issue if you are in a really small community but then again, if the problems are really bad others would see it too...I don't worry about my other DCF & just say DCB is no longer with us. If they ask a lot of questions just say you are not at liberty to discuss due to confidentiality.

I typically just say that they moved on and we wish them well.
I try to keep my tone sincere and positive because I think it reassures the remaining families that I will be as pleasant and professional about them

The best approach; parents will always want to know how you react to a situation to gauge how you would behave if/when they are in a similar position with you.

The DCM is the issue. I talked with her Friday and thought she understood but come Monday morning and i am having the same issue with her again. Long drop off n pick up n snarky comments. So i reminded her of our talk n she ignored me n continued to stay. I put up a gate at pick up today n told her going forward I will be passing the child over the gate. I provide a very detailed daily sheet and send pictures throughout the day. If she needs any further info schedule some time to talk but i need to get back to work!!!!!! It seems she ignores every attempt I make at getting her out of my home in under a half hour.
She reffered another family and I am concerned how they will react if i term her friend/co worker. And they r teachers so i m further concerned that I m never going to book at with anyone from that school again if I term.

Do not let a parent become the policy maker in your business. It will be fine if you have to term her. I promise!
