How To Get 1 Year Old Use To Me

Can anyone give me advice on this subject got a 1 year old and he has never been to daycare or home daycare. He as to dropped of between 3;30 or 3:45 because mom and dad both have to be the work at 4. I am desperately trying to get him use to me and the house. He won't play with any toys he just keep crying and looking for me to hold him He's a sweet little guy, but don't won't to spoil him. Should I just let him cry a little? I need to get him use to me and the house so that when other children come in I will be able to care for them and teach my curriculum because I really want my children to learn. Can anyone give me ideas on this?
