    I have a feeling....

Schools are closed today, we're expecting a big snowstorm in the late afternoon, and my only DCM that dropped off today mentioned another college (she works for one in the admin. building) closes at noon. I'm betting that she'll be off work just in time for a nap-time PU. After my BIL comes yesterday w/o notice and my dogs woke up my sleepers with their barking, I bet I'm going to have another short nap day (I have a 3yr old, 2yr old, and 7 month old of my own). I don't want her to be out driving DCG if it starts snowing, but I sure hope she gets here for an early PU before I lay them all down!

Could you ask her to text you as soon as she heads over so you might be able to corral the dogs?

Why not just tell her to be? If you KNOW she is going to be off early, just tell her you would appreciate that she come pick up DCG due to the storm coming so that you don't need to worry about driving with her.

There are often times I tell parents that due to the weather, I will be expecting everyone to arrive immediately after they are relieved from work as a courtesy to everyone.

She is going to text me when she's on her way, so I can take care of the dogs, but she is not exactly quiet and my DD (the 2 year old) will wake up to the sound of the door just opening. So even if I take her outside myself, she'll most likely wake up : ( Oh well, it's just one day- I'm just in a tired mood and anticipating the worst.

Honestly in cases like that I usually just tell the parents to take a break--run to the store or do some other errands--until nap is over. I figure that it's better in the long run for everyone to get their good naps.

ANd the storm isn't likely to make the raods *that* dangerous instantly.
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!
